A feature on rowers’ daily and regatta style would be fantastic. While I loved the Brooks Brothers Head of the Charles campaign (and the mens rugbies from that event) it was not an entirely accurate portrayal of that world (which includes an abundance of spandex and tech fabrics). Maybe something about east coast college rowers or photos from the New England or ECAC Rowing Championships?

Such a classic look.  Love the idea of the white pants with the riding boots.

Good photo and Good look - modern, elegant, and sophisticated.

Are those jeans or chinos? The material doesn’t seem as thick as denim, but the vestigal third pocket indicates the former.

“To knock out.” “To blow away.” “To overwhelm in a positive way.” -Sorry for the imprecise term and keep up the good work!

    @Trailer Trad—Define “slay”.

You DO know that you slay your poor readers with equestrian shoots like this, don’t you?

Magnificent. Brilliant. How can I join her coxless four?

I think only rowers will see the funny side of HLN’s comment and see that he was most likely just making a joke!

As for the look, it’s great! Sometimes it’s the simple things that work the best! I agree with the resemblance to Serena Van der Woodsen…. long legged blondes :)

    Terrific look, great shot.

    This is awesome.

@FEC, you should definately do a piece incorporating rowing and style one day.

Ironically, the room in the photo looks identical to one in the boathouse I row at.

Emmy - I’m sorry if I have offended you, I’m only joking! I have attended collegiate regattas as a competitor and I follow international rowing with great interest as some of my former team-mates now row for GB.

    Simplistic perfection.

Gorgeous. This reminds me of something I would wear… every day, if I could.

Also, and I mean no offense by this HLN, but that is a pretty ignorant comment. I recommend you watch the Olympics sometime, or even attend a collegiate regatta. You will soon eat your words.

She looks great. Very stylish and thoughtful outfit. Unfortunately everyone knows that women’s rowing = assisted drifting…

Yvonne, about boots: you can buy any sort of legit riding boots in virtually any configuration you’d like via www.DoverSaddlery.com. For someone who is not going to hunt, I’d recommend zip-up field boots, which fit snugly through the calf and have laces at the ankle that can be tightened. They are supposed to come up to the back of your knee, then curve higher around the outside of your knee. There are complex size charts so you can choose boots that fit very well without being tight. Do be aware that they will take awhile to break in and be comfortable, but once they do, they’ll last for many years of street use and will look smashing.

Would anyone know what brand those boots are? Or even, could anyone where and from whom I can buy similiar ones?

    Thanks!

a fun look for the last days of winter. and way more tasteful than anything serena van der woodsen has ever worn.

I’m a huge fan of riding boots. Love this look! Also as a collegiate rower myself, I love the noteworthy comment.

At first glance she reminded me of Serena Van der Woodsen. Great look- The printed scarf adds the perfect touch.
