Get Prepped
Tommy Hilfiger recently introduced Eau de Prep, a new fragrance for Buffys and Biffs alike. A corruption of the French expression eau de vie, it literally translates as water of prep. They’ve taken inspiration from classic preppy icons and bottled it up into a fragrance. What exactly does that smell like? Well, Tommy Hilfiger is giving one lucky lady Eau de Prep TommyGirl fragrance along with a handful of accessories in plaids and stripes. For a chance to win, comment below (with a valid email address) sharing your most beloved preppy piece in your closet. A winner will be chosen at random on Saturday December 17, 2011.

*Congratulations to Marguerite for sharing her most beloved preppy pieces (her grandmother’s Burberry wool plaid skirt and her namesake great-grandmother Marguerite’s gold owl brooch) and winning the Tommy Girl Eau de Prep fragrance and accessories.

I’m so surprised that no one has said LL Bean tote bags. I have them in almost every size and color, monograms and all. Whether it’s a purse, a bag for school, or something to hold a towel and easy reads at the beach, my totes go everywhere with me. With a monogram, totes are definitely a prep essential. (Well, or a navy blazer. I’ve had one in my closet since the ripe age of 12)

My favourite piece in my closet is definitely my navy blazer. I’ve had it for years and it is the perfect way to dress up a casual outfit (and if i’m trying to keep it casual I fold up the sleeves to 3/4 length). It is also great to dress down an outfit, so if I have multiple commitments that day of varying degrees of dress I am always suitably dressed.

I would have to say that among the highlights of my personal wardrobe is a bold, pink Lacoste cardigan that was given to me by my grandfather. I like to pair it with a matching bow tie, though I think that this “Eua de Prep” would also make an excellent compliment to it, should I have the good fortune of winning.
