    A Privileged Life is one of my all time favorite Assouline books, and this is one of my favorite photographs from that book! White bikini bottoms with a gray cashmere sweater, stunning.

    Hey, it’s 1959. All bathing suits from then looked kinda funny to contemporary eyes. And it wasn’t meant to be a pinup picture, I don’t believe. The picture (except for that, which isn’t that bad) is remarkably contemporary looking, that’s why we forget it was taken in 1959. And has that fabulous vibe.
