Noteworthy: Vintage Dexter beef roll penny loafers, white embroidered short (in the south, white is often worn below the waist in disregard of the Memorial/Labor Day window). If you find yourself stopping into Ralph Lauren (Atlanta), be sure to ask for Karlin. She will take good care of you.

@Karlin, that is very admirable that you have ne’er had any aspiration for such adornment. If you are in contact with any of the up and coming generation, do what you can to influence more in this direction. Keep up the good work, and collection of shoes for men and women. Someday the rest of the world will catch on to the idea of untrashiness. Best of everything to come with your new found position at RL. Which store are you at for future shopping occasions to ATL should opportunity knock? Lenox?

Karlin- Will do us all a favor and create your own blog? Sort of like a Karlin’s Daily Outifits type thing.

Thank you all for the very kind comments. Stepping out in front of this audience always makes a girl nervous. Just to clarify…

@theboss: Yes, I still photograph weddings and portrait work, and always will. I recently accepted a position with Ralph Lauren and I see it being a very long and happy relationship. I do have quite the collection of men’s inspired footwear and it is growing daily now that I’m at RL:) Not to worry, my collection of stilettos is just as vast.

@Joey Dee: I’m sincerely glad you notice that on women. I appreciate the same quality. I have no tattoos or piercings (save my ears) and never plan on any.

@Robin yes. these are pair from the sport line i think. SS/10.

The shoes were another great Bobby from Boston find. $20 and the pennies…my grandfathers.

    Cheers!
    k

I thought Karlin was a wedding photographer?

Anyway, based on the photos Fred’s posted on here since this blogs inception, I’ve noticed that she has almost completely opted for men’s inspired footwear—brogues, penny loafers, Hunters, boat shoes. What’s missing? Bucks?

Brilliant. It’s so unusual to see nicely dressed American girls.

Joey Dee left a comment on 9/13/2010 at 1:47 PM:

I was so enthusiastic about an attractive woman, without any (readily visible) tattoos in this modern day, that I forgot to compliment the fact that she is a beautiful girl. Thank you unabashedly prep!

@robdarko another trait on a young woman that seems to lack these days is skin, pure and unadulterated skin; unadorned by any tattoos. This is getting harder and harder to find even among proper young ladies. Curse you forever limp bizkit and gangster rap for making these seem popular.

Ah, the classic penny loafer with pennies; how perfect!  I remember having pennies in my Bass Weejuns at all times…not quite sure why I stopped that ritual?

I love a woman in legit pennies - great look.

Not a fan of embroidered anything but I can appreciate her style.  I do love that Karlin is almost always devoid of jewelry, except for a watch.  This trait, in a girl, is really refreshing.

    The shoes are very choice.

Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, arguably one of ATL’s best BBQ spots next to Fox Bros…nice ‘fit as well. The loafers feel great, the white throws me off a little…maybe a better June post, do for others what they can’t do for themselves.

The shorts are Ralph Lauren right? I think I have those. The emblem is two flags.
