@Openzedoor—I assume only Emily knows whether the tear is intentional. What I know is that despite the tear/imperfection, she’s still wearing them, loving them (isn’t tossing them in the garbage bin). Now that is preppy.

HOT. Not trashy. Sorry. Although not preppy…it’s not a bad thing. FEC likes the look enough to photograph it. It’s his blog…plain and simple. We can only see so much bow tie and oxford. Thanks Fred.

This blog was started in order to pay homage to prep trad while expanding its visual landscape. I believe this look alludes to that. It’s sophisticated yet still casual. The small tear in her hose above her knee is endearing…it shows nonchalance.

Her whole ensemble is too Bohemian chic for my taste. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that one of her style icons must be Stevie Nicks.

c’mon gang. ripped lace nylons? see-through pirate-esque sleeves? it’s nothing personal - I don’t know Emily and she’s certainly an attractive woman, but this look isn’t preppy, classic, trad, chic, or otherwise. it’s an odd-mish mash that appears dated, slightly goth, and sloppily executed. if folks are gonna have their pics posted on a public blog, they (and their friends) need to be able to absorb objective criticism.
