I like the outfit, but I feel like it would be better with a solid color shirt. Not saying the shirt he has on is bad; as I said I think the outfit looks great. But, I think it would be better if the shirt was a solid color.

Great Look!
The Tassel Loafers seems to be Crockett & Jones in snuff suede and Last 72, probably made for RL (like the Darltons but in snuff/tobacco suede)

@TheCreativeRoutine—Typically the general rule of thumb is “Sometimes-Always-Never” when it comes to buttoning up your blazer. For example, if wearing a three button blazer, you could ‘sometimes’ button the top button, you would ‘always’ button the middle button and ‘NEVER’ button the bottom button.
This rule transcends into cardigans and vests as well. The bottom button should typically be left undone…and it’s rooted in function. It allows for sitting down in your waist coat or blazer/jacket. Here in this case, this young man may be choosing to ignore this rule simply because *it is a rule* and he’s feeling a little rebellious. Who knows for sure.

Would anyone care to explain the problem with his having all his vest buttons done?

What a great combo here. I’ve been trying to think of how to pull off my Tan Trench in the winter months, but haven’t got around to trying it. And its been super cold. I hate to steel a look, but I’m going to have to try this (minus the vest) off to shop my closet and see what I can work out. Killer shot F.E.

It’s definitely the wind kicking up his hair - I have seen pictures of this guy before, not to mention it has been SO windy in NYC this last week…

Everything about this look is divine- I’m especially drawn to the gingham.. okay, let’s be honest, I’m drawn to everything. I think the vest looks just fine buttoned up? But I don’t know the rules regarding men and their waistcoats.
And as another user commented, I am also curious if he’s sporting a pompadour or if the wind is kicking up his forelocks.

@robdarko—Buttoning the bottom button may be “his thing” for all I know.
@Tyler P.—I will say that his hair fell victim to wind.

Aside from the vest button snafu, this guy is looks very smart.
IMHO

good look, loving the belt, jeans, and bow tie/ scarf combo. all the buttons is a little weird, but doesn’t look out of place in this look. The only real negative thing I have to say is about his hair… it might be that it is wind blown and that is not the natural look, but I don’t think your hair should be, nearly, the size of your face.

the trench and sunnies make the look for me, though having the vests buttons all done up looks a bit odd.

His right proper use of accessories is impressive. Love the multi-colored scarf(s?). And the vertical line of the glasses greatly contrast the bowtie. Everything is just put together well. Love the suede loafers.

Belt is Ralph Lauren purple label 0 ring - got it in 06 and still looks great. Anyone know the loafers?

First example I have seen where I liked the use of a suede tassel loafer.

@Bunny—It is never rude to ask who someone is. This is Campbell. I met Campbell in Newport, RI at the Boat Shoes & Blazers benefit. He works in Soho and we occasionally meet up for dinner and drinks.

@John Lexington—I was not in Athens, GA over the weekend. I do love Georgia though.

That’s a fantastic look. The tartan scarf is a great contrast, and the suede tassel loafers are perfect.
