L.A.S.—I was in NYC three weeks ago…so we didn´t necessarily miss each other.  I hope you enjoyed your stay. I´ll be heading back in January though.

Claire—Fresh is what I aim for. Thanks beautiful girl.

Hmmm…were you in NY this past weekend?  If so, It’s a shame I didn’t run into you, though I was looking decidedly less preppy than usual.

  • Grizzly Bear

    Music & Books

All the way from Brooklyn, Grizzly Bear’s indie-rock reaches a lofty pinnacle with their latest album. At its heart, Veckatimest is an album about the space and place between loved ones. Not only has this quartet demonstrated their musical chops, but their sartorial chops as well. The guys can dress. Their hipster-take on prep style compliments their acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies brilliantly.

E—Thank you for mentioning Department of Eagles. I have their album sitting in my iTunes library but just haven’t dug into it yet. I’ll get on that right away.

You really should check out Department of Eagles—It is a side project of one of the guys in Grizzly Bear and their last album was divine!

No one can stop the prep force that is Vampire Weekend, but GB comes close.

  • Asher Roth

    Music & Books

A gangly redhead from the Philadelphia suburbs is the unlikely candidate to carry the mantle of the white MC, but that’s exactly what’s poised to happen as Asher Roth ducks and dodges Eminem’s shadow. His wardrobe looks like he picked it out of his hamper, resembling a college senior not quite ready to step into the real world. But Roth’s tight, witty debut lives up to the Internet hype that has swirled around him for months. With a name as unique as Asher, you’d think it might be a no-brainer but Roth actually matured through several monikers before fully embracing his given name.
