like Spoozy suggested…maybe some brown brogues…but to each his own
    well put together though

Robert is correct there it is my good friend Bevin Elias visual director for the Brooklyn Circus such a effortless and classic look he has pulled off here. Kudos

spoozy left a comment on 2/24/2010 at 6:47 PM:

I totally agree with all of you guys, he has a great look. The only thing i do suggest for having a second thought on: would this outfirk work with brown wingtip brogue shoes too?
    I shall think so…

That’s Bevin Elias of The Brooklyn Circus; he has amazing style. Great photograph.

I’m usually not into your style, but that’s a pimpin’ look.

    jack @ www.thisisnotnew.com left a comment on 2/24/2010 at 12:37 PM:

Great outfit, boots, belt, hat and jacket all work seamlessly and the cuff on the denim is just perfect for a look that refers to the first half of the 20th century.

The Boss left a comment on 2/24/2010 at 10:20 AM:

I love how the hues in his scarf complement the brown leather encompassed throughout this look. Top drawer.

Fred—What’s the status on the Norwegian sweater fit post?

Does Morris have an online store? I’ve searched their site to no avail, and can’t locate anything online. Are they in store purchase only?

F.E. Castleberry left a comment on 2/24/2010 at 1:52 PM:

Roberta & Hope—I can understand where the confusion is coming from.  In the Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson entry, her style and overall demeanor inspired me to “urge women to rediscover sexiness in the company of dignity.”  There’s a time and place for everything.  When you’re at the lake/ocean/beach, that time and place is for a bikini or one piece.

When you look closer, she is being somewhat modest by wearing a polo (even while swimming), quilted vest and military jacket while on the water.  She comes off as not attempting to be sexy…but simply as one of the boys. That’s a little different than buying into what society has declared as sexy.

great find, kind of reminds me of a ralph lauren shoot but with less restraint

www.morris.se or by google Morris sthlm. Unless you’re fortunate enough to keep house in Stockholm or Bords, Switzerland, Norway or Japan I don;t think you’ll find a stockist any time soon.

The popularity of Preppy style has waxed and waned over the years but never really goes out of style. I love the uppermost shot of the woman between the two men. She has this expression like she is wondering why she is there? The two guys look like they’re waiting for her to leave already. Made me laugh.
    Cheers!

There’s an ease and air of confidence about women wearing very little clothes? I’m confused, FEC didn’t you say a while ago ( I think in the Emma Watson Post) that women should know that not having to undress is more elegant and mature…or something to that extent…

F.E. Castleberry left a comment on 2/23/2010 at 12:59 PM:

ABC—I’m unsure if you’re being facetious in your comment below…but I actually do wish what you’ve expressed.  There’s an ease and air of confidence about it.

I love the 2002 but if we’re going for finest looking automobile in the History of the Earth how about the 3.0 CS?  One made a great appearance in Fracture with Anthony Hopkins… Beautiful, classic and preppy.  I believe they’ve shown up in a Rugby shoot or two as well.

From page 204 of “The Official Preppy Handbook” in the section titled “Prepmobiles”: “...Originally a simple matter of reverse snobbery…Here is an expensive toy whose compact-car appearance is supposed to say, “not showy, just sensible”. ...this is a costly, high-performance car, it achieves a very desirable encoded flashiness.”  F.E. Castleberry please report to the Deans office immediately.

Our favorite representatives of preppy culture are having fun with tennis-chic. I’m not too happy about the cameos but i enjoy the generel aesthetic of the video. Wrists like steel, indeed.
