• Orange Is the New Black

    Top Drawer | Dress Code

    Photographed in New York, NY

Noteworthy: During my time at Ralph Lauren, Ben Eskridge was one of the biggest fans of Rugby. I love this guy. Each day he brought an incredible energy to the office. He loves color in a city that is black and white. There is always something fresh to take away from what he does. Here, I appreciate his relaxed approach to tailored clothing by mixing in his bright graphic knit Rubgy beanie and parka.

Dig the look! “He loves color in a city that is black and white”. If it wasnt for the guy over Bens left shoulder, the quote would fit perfectly with the photo.

    Style

Continuing to shoot for myself is important. It’s part of what keeps my creative energy lit up…my concepts, my styling, my casting—my way. It’s totally mine. But it’s rarely executed without a team. Big or small, it’s always a better experience with a talented team of people who trust you and your vision.

Creating art is more fun with your friends, yeah? Thank you Wolfe for stepping in front of my lens and enduring meticulous direction. You’re a real pro. Mariah, thank you for your feminine eye and finesse. Lastly, I want to thank my good friend Ali for not only the use of his Brooklyn loft space but for the access to his extensive vintage clothing collection. He pulled out this vintage raccoon fur coat…double-breasted, ankle-length, reminiscent of the 1920s collegiates of the northeast. We then threw it on Wolf and the shot went to an entirely different place.

My comment has been edited because I don’t actually know how to conduct myself as a respectable human being in an anonymous environment like the Internet. Why is it that I want to disparage someone I don’t even know nor have ever met? I don’t know. What I do know is that Unabashedly Prep is F.E.‘s platform and his point of view…and it is his prerogative to eradicate any energy (including mine) that does not propel his vision forward.

@Nelson—I create photographs, I write, I consult, and I design clothes & accessories.

@Hunter—Above, I shared that this shoot was a personal project. The only thing I am profiling/marketing is my work…my point of view.

What was this shoot for? What are you profiling/marketing?

Noteworthy: a gray flannel suit is such an essential it's worth wearing double-breasted, Barbour Bedale, bright scarf.
