@SM—There was snow all over the ground at the ski resort (and town)...you can see some in the background.

    Was it snowing?

Thanks! I’ll definitely keep that in mind for next winter! (Yay for an early spring!!)

@Emily Anne—Try an oversized wool sock like I’m wearing in addition to a boot that is capable of lacing up over your jean.

Emily Anne left a comment on 3/16/2012 at 12:08 PM:

How do you get your jeans to stay tucked into your socks? Whenever I try and make that work, the jeans never stay where I want them to.

I acknowledge we can’t judge the fit from just one picture but bold choice of color and fit.

@Tim—When have I ever dressed like anyone else? Correct me if I’m wrong, but my blog is still called U-n-a-b-a-s-h-e-d-l-y Prep.

You look very nice. This seems like more of an Aspen outfit than a Steamboat outfit. I’ve been going to Steamboat for 30 years. Almost no one out there dresses like this.

@Matthew—After quickly skimming the article, I agree with approximately 95% of what she wrote.

Fred, what was your opinion on the article by fellow blogger Muffy Aldrich, “Of Comments and Vendors”

@Alfred—It really doesn’t matter. I wear what I own. I own what I’ve chosen. I’ve chosen what I like. And what I like, I’ve shared with you all here.

    Mr. Castleberry,

Would you mind alerting readers to which of these items were gifted to you (or offered at exclusive discount) by the retailers?

Thanks - it’s good for perspective when digesting your photos and noteworthy items.

@F.E. Hahaha! You crack me up. No amazing hair cut would tame my Brillo pad hair. Good hair = good genes, something I didn’t get. haha!

@Richard—This jacket is designed to sit close to the body and fits me perfectly. Any pulling you may see is due to the hand in my pocket and the behaviour of the vapor nylon shell. I have stressed this time and time again here: you cannot judge the minute details of fit from a simple street style portrait. Clothes move and shift and wrinkle throughout the day and are sometimes photographed that way in real life.

@Mark—Before Sarah Vickers was a “style blogger”, she was my friend. Although Vickers has a really classic sense of style, I can’t say that I took a nod from her on this.

@Paul—I have a pair of wool fingerless gloves I could slip on. To answer your hair question, the best way to avoid a bad hair day is to get a great cut.

Richard left a comment on 3/9/2012 at 1:57 PM:

Egan, would you typically recommend sizing one up in this situation, or is that the allure of the jacket?

Mark left a comment on 3/9/2012 at 1:24 PM:

Your sock/boot look reminds me of Sarah Vickers, nice to see you’re taking nods from other style bloggers!

Sorels - the snow boot of choice of the Sierra. Have not worn mine yet this year.

Angel left a comment on 3/9/2012 at 12:21 PM:

@Paul, I don’t know about F.E., but I would probably wear a wool glove of some sort since this is more of a Après-ski look. I’d personally would wear my tan fingerless mits with the finger flap.

Nice look F.E., for a second I was going to give you a hard time about it, then I realized you were actually at on the mountain and not in mid-town NYC. The looks is appropriate for tromping through snowy mountain villages.

What kind of gloves would you wear with that outfit? Also,do you ever have a bad hair day?
