Very nice outfit, especially the correct trouser length!

Take notice that AEV mentions Vineyard Vines second (first brick and mortar store) on the list.

nice color combo…for spring. Seems and odd sartorial choice for October, unless of course the photo was actually taken in the spring or summer. Looking again, I guess it was taken earlier in the year judging by the attire of the people in the background.

I appreciate you taking the time to explain your moderation policy, but similarly to Dan from London, all I did was mention that in my opinion the jacket sleeves of a man you photographed were a little long, in the same comment I also expressed my admiration of the composition of the photograph. I don’t see how that could be interpreted as offensive, by any stretch of the imagination.

I have been rocking pink and green together for over 30 years. Never thought of it as making a fashion statement, just thought it worked. Agreed, this blog is madd cool. I too have told a gang of my boyees about it. The fuschia tote bag though…I don’t know any cats who would do that.

I think he looks like a nice handful of dutch mints!

Light/mint green pants are sold by all sorts of retailers (esp. in spring/summer): Castaway, VVines, Brooks Bros., RL, J.Crew, Orvis, J. Press, F.L. Woods, Bills….and so on.

Fred, hats off to you for explaining your situation, I fully appreciate what you have said and thank you. My only sin was to say that I don’t like a pocket square with a badged pocket, I don’t really understand how that could be described as being negative. I don’t know how many people follow you from the UK but I have certainly told a few friends about your site and as mentioned before I really enjoy it so keep up the good work.

This is a magnificent example of what guys can do with colour.  Pink and green have always gone together (just ask Muffy Aldrich) and always will.  This guy looks great, and would fit right in anywhere in New England.

I have a pair of shorts from RL Polo in a similar mint green, but no luck with pants.  FEC, do you know where he got them?

@HLN & Dan from London—Ok, I’ll bite because apparently you two don’t get it.  Let’s start by establishing the fact that Unabashedly Prep by F.E. Castleberry is my livelihood—the jobs I garner, the relationships I’ve made, the advertising revenue—they all go to keeping a roof over my family’s head, food in our stomachs, and clothes on our backs.  The moment someone else threatens that livelihood, I take care of it.

I am responsible for all of Unabashedly Prep’s content…including your comments.  When someone leaves a comment, I—not them—am held responsible for that comment.  Anything said on this said is a ultimately a reflection of me.  Anything you say directly affects me—not you.  When you truly come to understand that what you say on this site is as if I said it myself, then you’ll begin to understand my moderation policy.  The comment section exists for readers to express appreciation for the inspiration they may receive from the content I create or to ask questions—that’s it.  It doesn’t exist so that you can work out your low self esteem issues or your insecurities by berating others’ clothing choices.  If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all.  Let that be your guide.

This is not a discussion.  This is an explanation as to why your comments have been moderated or deleted.

Well said HLN , maybe Fred could post a comment in reply ?
I really like the blog and would welcome a response on this topic.
    Thank you.

I have had my comments moderated or deleted, and they weren’t rude or unpleasant. Of course this is FEC’s blog, but if you put yourself and your work in the public domain you should be able to accept some constructive criticism or at the very least allow someone to express an opinion which although contrary to your own, may interest other readers or stimulate debate.
