Have any of you seen the Philip Seymour Hoffman’s portrayal in Capote?

Those penetrating eyes! His ‘In Cold Blood’ is the only novel that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up: first it recounts a horrific senseless slaughter of a entire family and second it is so exquisitely well written it is almost painful. Unlike my post, which is painful because it is so poorly written. Ha!

Yes, I admire PSH’s portrayal of Truman Capote. He is currently one of my favorite actors and one of the best actors around. Toby Jones portrayal of Truman in the film “Infamous” was also quite excellent. A funny coincidence that two films about the same period in Truman’s life were filmed at the same time. Which is the truer interpretation of Truman’s character? Both films agree that he fell deeply in love with Perry Smith and that love destroyed him.
