    Miscellany

    Often called "the fashion bible," Women's Wear Daily serves as the voice of authority, international newswire and agent of change for fashion, beauty and retail industries. They also happen to publish a weekly Menswear report every Thursday. David Lipke interviewed me for a men's style blog piece he wrote in the upcoming issue. You can currently read the article in its entirety online. The issue will be on stands October 26th with some issues dropping as early as later this week in L.A. and New York.

    On the subject of monetizing UP:  Any plans on releasing a book with all of these great looks by the way? I think it would make a great coffeetable book. I always feel I would like a higher resolution version of the photos so I can really see all the details and patterns and watches and so on.

    I didn’t realize you were from Dallas, which makes your zealous enthusiasm for the New England preppy lifestyle even more admirable.

    As someone who originates from the great Northeast, I often find it is people like you who are keeping the culture alive. To some the preppy lifestyle is yet another sign of New England’s pretentiousness, to others it is one of many reasons to worship the region.

Unabashedly Prep is my favourite fashion-blog and the first thing I check in the morning (though living in Europe usually means I have to wait until after lunch for anything new). Keep up the good work FEC!

    F.E. Castleberry left a comment on 10/14/2010 at 10:01 AM:

    @AEV—I had my hands on Lotuff & Clegg’s trunk duffle…it is a brilliant bag for travel by train/car.  This is indeed the same vintage blazer…quite a difference one button can make indeed.

    @Tito—Though I do condone pocket squares, I rarely wear them with my navy gold button blazer to maintain the schoolboy aesthetic.

    @Aaron—This blazer is a vintage piece I picked up for $8.  You can get a brand new one at Polo for $1000…or start hitting the Salvation Army thrifts.

    @robdarko—I would consider these trousers a Go-To-Hell hue solely based on the stares and looks garnered on the streets of NYC.

    @Michael—The aviators are Randolph Engineering.

    @Francesco—This blazer is vintage.

    @Laguna Beach Fogey—A pair of Persols would indeed also look tops.  As far as modeling goes…I have one decent side at best. I need more of a jaw line.

    @JMW—The orange corduroy trousers are Gant by Michael Bastian.

    AEV left a comment on 10/14/2010 at 9:18 AM:

    That bag is gorgeous - I’ve been coveting their trunk duffle bag for a while now. Check out Glaser Designs if you like L&C’s stuff.

    Is that the same vintage blazer from a few posts ago? Amazing what a difference an unbuttoned button can make…

    Just awesome! As I always say, FEC, you should consider a job as a model, and I’m not talking Zoolander-style.

    Love the blazer (kudos for not rocking the trendy 3/2 roll here), trousers, and loafers.

    The duffle bag looks amazing and I’m going to check out the L&C website right now.

    A pair of Persol sunglasses would look SOOO much better than the aviators you have on.

    Great look! The blue gingham, the coat and her eyeglasses are my favorite; and gotta say she’s too cute for words haha.
