Nice location! Front yard of Tri-Delta house at SMU, I’m a student and can’t believe I missed you. You should spend more time on campus, it is a beautiful place.

I was wondering about something that distracted me about this picture…and now i found out what it was: maybe it´s just the camera angle, but somehow his upper body looks to short, in comparison to his legs.

Apart from that, he looks great.

I love cable knit. Also I’m really liking the grosgrain ribbon belt and watch band.

Sam left a comment on 3/9/2010 at 8:27 PM:

for those who are wondering it is all rugby. the jacket is the barbour knock-off we did for fall/early winter, tweed trousers are fall rugby, scarf is early fall rugby, as is the hat and cardigan. boots, as stated are polo. damn fine outfit.

anthony left a comment on 3/9/2010 at 3:58 PM:

i think labels are important. if nothing else, the identification of certain designers helps people who are researching in an attempt to re-create a certain look.

a vintage cargo/fatigue jacket like the one he has is fairly easy to find. there are usually similar items at ralph lauren or j.crew for most of the year (since the piece is so versatile). the RL ranger boots are everywhere, but those pants (which are probably rugby) are going to be impossible to find at this time of year. rugby always releases heavy tweed pants in the fall (which have a very tapered fit similar to these), however, so come late-august/early-september it shouldn’t be a problem.

Cam left a comment on 3/9/2010 at 2:30 PM:

Labels aren’t important. Its not like you could walk into a store and get a vintage jacket like that off the rack nor find trousers that fit that well without tailoring.
To give a hint - most photos have a heavy polo influence ex. the polo boots in this post.

KGS left a comment on 3/9/2010 at 10:58 AM:

Dude is stylin…the boots go with the tweed damn nicely. As others have commented, labels/info would be awesome!

Interesting color palette and mixing of fabrics. The way the trousers are cuffed (hemmed) sit perfectly on his boots. Choice.

josh left a comment on 3/7/2010 at 10:15 AM:

i think anthony is right—the soles on those boots give them away as the nansen from polo (the brownish/gray tweed version). i think this dude pulls off the look. the pants are crazy, but he wears a relatively subdued tie and oxford to balance it out. the belt throws in a nice splash of color, adding just the right amount of interest.

    PHM_III left a comment on 3/6/2010 at 9:07 PM:

I think those are actually the new version of the bean boot that was released this year. I like all these things separately, but no one (even this model) could pull this off…

anthony left a comment on 3/6/2010 at 2:56 PM:

those aren’t bean boots. i think they’re actually one of the versions of the RL nansen boot. i think he pulls everything together nicely, but i’d either tuck the chinos in to the boots, or roll them up a bit to show the flannel lining.

Very awesome, nice bean boots. I would have chosen a more colorful tie, but that’s me. I like the knit tie I must say.
